Dinosaur Addition Board Game:
CCSS.Math.Content.K.OA.A.5 Fluently add and subtract within 5.
Students choose a card with an addition number sentence. After solving the problem, they move their game piece (not provided) to that number on the game board.
Missing Number Activity:
CCSS.Math.Content.K.CC.A.3 Write numbers from 0 to 20. CCSS.Math.Content.K.CC.B.4 Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
Students print the missing number on either the egg or the sun.
CCSS.Math.Content.K.NBT.A.1 Compose and decompose numbers from 11 to 19 into ten ones and some further ones, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record each composition or decomposition by a drawing or equation (such as 18 = 10 + 8); understand that these numbers are composed of ten ones and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine ones.
Hang the dinosaur ten frame cards around the room. Students will record the teen number and write the number sentence to make the number.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.K.3 Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words.
Students choose a card and blend the word. If they get a “Take 1 Card” they get to take a card from a friend if they can blend it. The person with the most cards at the end wins.
