Your kids will have so much fun learning all about dinosaurs with this fun-filled packet!
- I start off with showing my students the 7 dinosaur slides – each has a picture of a dinosaur and a question on it to spur discussion such as, “How do you think this dinosaur defended himself?”, “Look at this dinosaur’s teeth – do you think he was a plant-eater or a meat-eater?”
-After we view the slides, we create a mini-dinosaur coloring book. Each page has a dinosaur fact and a picture of a dinosaur. It is a 10-page book that prints on just 3 pieces of paper- front to back.
-All of my students then make their own dinosaur using just paper towel or toilet paper tubes and cardstock, pattern included.
-The dinosaur Bingo game comes complete with a set of dinosaur facts to use with your students such as, “Put a Bingo chip on an animal that lived with dinosaurs and is still alive today” (answer: a crocodile) making it not only fun to play but educational as well!
Also included in this packet:
-Look Who’s Hatching – reinforces the concept that dinosaurs (and all reptiles) hatch from eggs. Students make a dinosaur hatching from a paper egg - materials: metal brads to open and close egg, paper
-Paleontology Fun! Create a dinosaur fossil using Q-tips
-Make your own fossil - coffee/flour dough recipe for use with tiny toy dinos (I buy mine from Oriental Trading) to create little fossils for kids
