Print cards and laminate for durability. Students sit in a circle with cards placed face down in a pile. Take it in turns to pull a card and read the word. If they can read the word they get to keep the card, if they can’t the word goes to the bottom of the pile. If students pick the “There’s a snake in my boot!” card they must swap their hand with another player that has less cards than them.
Alternatively- I have made a record sheet. Take the “There’s a snake in my boot!” cards out of the pile and place all cards on the table. Students read the words and write them into the correct columns.
