It's that time of year when your students are ready to learn more spelling conventions that will ultimately help their reading and writing.
In Grade 1, I typically introduce diphthongs to students in January, February and March.
In Grade 2, students are usually ready early on in the year.
This package is designed to teach your class all about the AW/AU sound. We call all these words "Cutie Words" because they make the "aww" sound.
It's best to teach about Cutie Words after you teach your class about the Band-aid Words (OW/OU). Found here:
