Students will love drawing this beautiful rooster. This lesson is designed to compliment any classroom art program or educational curriculum. My step-by-step method breaks the drawing down into simple shapes which students can easily master.
No previous art experience is needed for the teacher as this lesson provides complete instruction for students from beginning to end. Only basic art supplies are required, including pencils, erasers, paper, crayons, and dark outline markers (or, if you choose, you can provide more complex art mediums such as pastels or paint). This lesson is designed to be a "make and take" project, and can be completed in one sitting (about an hour).
Students are guided by the “instructors”, featured on each page, and encouraged to work within their own abilities and experience levels. At the same time, advanced students are prompted to master challenging techniques offered in this illustration project. I also cover key elements of art theory for a well rounded lesson.
At completion, students are encouraged to write a story about their illustration or use it as a cover for a journal or poem book.
No need to print out the pages, children can learn at their own pace by viewing the lesson on most any electronic device (I use a projector for my large class settings).
My students have gained numerous benefits while doing my art classes, including the ability to follow instructions, independent learning, increased attention span and improved handwriting skills.
I enjoy seeing the progress students make with my lessons. They often tell me it's their favorite part of the week and the positive feedback I receive from their parents is truly inspirational.
