A printable board game to use directed numbers/positive and negative numbers and money in context! You start out with a given amount and have to choose 'challenge cards'. Some cards give you birthday money, interest earned or dividends. Others can be account fees or a broken window you need to repair, unlucky! Some cards apply to every group so you must be listening up.
I began by pairing children and completing the sums together and later children played individually during maths stations. We sometimes split the class in half where they draw cards and 'race' through sums on the whiteboard as they update their balance.
I've laminated three different coloured sets and the kids play these when they're finished early. They're very popular in my class!
Great for teaching the concept of positive and negative as well as money and banking vocabulary!
