Direction-Following with Critical Thinking: Town Map includes 2 versions of a town map along with 2 levels of critical thinking/direction-following [as well as direction-giving] tasks. This activity requires students to demonstrate their skills in the comprehension and expressive use of most of the prepositional/directional concepts they are required to master by the early grades. Each level contains at least 8 questions that directly pertain to an accompanying map. There is even additional space available for your own questions.
Color ink is so expensive, however this activity can be printed and used effectively in black/white, which permits students to be creative once this activity is completed (or even during the activity). "Color the roof of the post office, red". This activity could also be downloaded onto your computer for projection during a large group activity.
