These easy-to-follow Direction Word slips (4 per page) are perfect for developing readers and independent centers. During the first weeks of school (before centers are introduced), I give one to each student and we customize the list. Below I have listed the cues I use for each word. Feel free to use these or make your own. There is room at the bottom to add a few direction words that may be needed. These direction words are highlighted in my centers so the students know to look at their list if they are stuck on a word. We practice these words daily during those first weeks from the large chart included in the download.
