This assignment is to test whether or not students read directions before beginning an assignment. The directions tell the students not to do anything until they have read every step. The sheet then lists 14 steps that include things like folding the paper or doodling in the margins. The last step tells students not to do anything but the first and last steps: they should write their name at the top and give a brief description of what they learned from the exercise. Students who read the directions will turn in a blank sheet with their names at the top. Students who rushed straight to the steps will have doodles and words written all over the page.
