Discipline Dollars is a classroom management system that runs on a classroom economy. Students earn and pay money each week (or each day depending on the age of your students) based on their classroom behaviors and choices.
Students “pay” the teacher money for repeated behavior corrections and can earn money for positive classroom choices. Students keep a balance sheet and after a designated period of time, buy class rewards like bonus recess, denim day, homework passes, or anything that is an incentive in your school/classroom.
The plan encourages positive behaviors, reduces repeated negative behaviors, and incorporates financial literacy and math skills.
