Discipline Plan for Secondary Students

Classroom management is key in a secondary classroom. If you are a new teacher or you feel like you need a better discipline plan this year, you have come to the right place. This behavior management plan is geared toward high school and middle school students, but can be used with younger students. This plan has been used by me for several years now and I love it. I work in an urban school district and sometimes these students can be tough to handle, but this plan has saved me from being miserable and I am able to teach my class with very little problems! Your administrators will love you and brag on you for having a detailed plan. The key is consistency, firmness and respect. Anyone can follow this plan! Put the responsibility on the students!

This plan provides:

1. A quick start guide checklist

2. Forms to use for documentation

3. A poster with the plan to hang in the classroom

4. Thoughts on what constitutes a discipline issue

5. A step-by-step plan with an example and how to handle the situation.

"Johnny" will not cause problems the whole year! He will learn to behave because his teachers and parents will be involved way before the school office is! The teacher will be organized and have tons of documentation before a student is written up. The great thing is that the student will be doing some of the paperwork and they will be the ones calling their parents! Good luck! I would love to hear how your year goes as you use this plan.
