Percent Applications - Guided Notes, Worksheets and Assessments

Students will calculate the sale price of five food items. The directions ask students to round to the hundredths place in order to determine the best deal offered for an item. The second part of this worksheet has students calculate the sale price when a store offers 25% off plus an additional 10% off the sale price. Students are asked to determine if it would be the same sale price if 35% was taken off the original price. This common real-world mistake when calculating percents can generate meaningful conversations and collaboration.
