Engage your students in thinking critically about American Indian societies before colonization or white settlement. Using six visual illustrations, students will think critically about how these images reflect characteristics of complex civilizations. Along with the six illustrations representing societies across the Americas, students will answer five multi-part questions asking them to use the illustrations to help brainstorm about these societies and their civilization characteristics. An answer guide is included to help show possible student answers.
