In this discussion-based activity, students are asked to read through four statements and move around the room to the area that best represents their point of view. Agree-Disagree signs are included. Students will be asked to justify their positions with evidence. There are activities and primary source documents for each statement discussed and recommended clips to be used with An Inconvenient Truth (if the teacher chooses to use it). I use this during the Industrial Revolution unit to make the issues we cover more relevant to students! Some of these issues are child labor, the environment, immigration, and globalization. They love it! A google presentation link is included with a world map and examples of globalization as seen in groceries from around the world. Great to use as an informal common core speaking and listening assessment!
