When learning how to get my students to turn-and-talk, I made these sentence frame bubbles to help students participate and engage in discussion. These discussion frames changed my teaching life, and I hope they help with yours!
I started using them to have conversations about math with the Mathematical Practices in mind, but quickly realized that the strategies we used in math quickly "bubbled" over into all of our other subjects' discussions as well!
These are super simple. Just print out on color paper or card stock, laminate if you desire, and hang in your classroom meeting space. You can color coordinate with your class theme, or you can have a color for Agree/Disagree/Clarify bubbles.
