Here are 20 printable question strips to use with any chapter book. These questions will spark discussions in your book club or literature circles, they will prompt writing in journals, and they will show the level at which your students are comprehending the book they are reading.
Print them, cut them apart, and let students choose which one they'll respond to. There are no right or wrong answers. Your students will have to think and understand the book to be able to answer these questions.
I introduce these in large group, so we can talk together about what a thoughtful, complete answer sounds like. Then we move to think-pair-share, to give every student the opportunity to respond.
Just print, cut apart, and discuss! An easy, peasy way to get thoughtful reading responses for any chapter book!
