When having a Socratic Circle discussion or other type, use these discussion rubrics to evaluate students. The individual rubric is used for the teacher to tally how many points each student is accumulating during the discussion. This ensures that everyone participates but in a QUALITY way, not QUANTITY. Set a max number of points they must receive (like 3-5 points). Using the holistic class discussion rubric, evaluate the group as a whole and give the whole group a score. Use these rubrics together or use one sometimes and the other during other times.
