Product Description
The Fairfax County Public School System in Virginia has new PLANNING and PACING guides for the 2017 - 2018 school year. The second unit in language arts is titled, "Characters". I have developed these anchor charts using the NEW planning and pacing guide for 5th grade and Virginia ELA SOLs, but I think the lesson could be adapted for 4th and 6th grades as well as used in other districts.

This lesson features think aloud, turn-and-talk, and SOL question stems along with illustrations of children engaging in thinking deeply about characters and sharing their thoughts with each other.

This presentation is for one teacher and his/her students.

Lesson aligned with and inspired by:
* FCPS ELA Planning and Pacing Guide – 5th Grade; Unit 2

* Virginia Standards of Learning
