Weekend activities present a great opportunity to get students writing and talking about authentic material in French class. Every Monday, students can use the passé composé to write about what they did on the weekend, then share it orally with a partner. They will listen to the partner talk about their weekend, then record what the partner did as well. At the end of the school week, they can use the futur proche to write about and discuss their plans for the upcoming weekend. Teachers can use for assessing writing, speaking, and listening as students share their own and their classmates responses through a whole-class discussion.
