In this pairs / small group activity, students work together to sketch solids of revolution that are described, then they use the disk method to write an integral expression for the volume of each solid. Finally, they evaluate one of the expressions.
There are six basic problem sets, plus two more challenging sets.
The problems are on small pieces of paper (four per page), and students write up their work on a poster or sheet of newsprint to hang in the room.
An answer key is included.
