You will need to print out clip chart pages on cardstock. Pages have colored borders. So there is no need to glue them on construction paper unless you wish to.
Tape the sheets together in the following order from top to bottom:
purple, blue, green, yellow, red
I have included 2 different versions of the blue card (castle). Choose which one you like best.
Laminate if you wish for durability.
Write students' names on clothespins and attach to either side of green Mickey area.
Students begin on green at the beginning of each day. According to their behavior choices they move their clip up and/or down throughout the day.
At the end of the day, students color in the daily behavior log, which is included, to show their parents or guardians how their behavior was for the day. If we are short on time they circle the character instead of coloring it in. Parents are asked to sign the behavior log each night.
I give students on green hand stamps, students on blue stickers, and students on purple small prizes at the end of the day. Students that are on purple also get a gem sticker added to their clothespin. Rewards are totally optional and just something I do in my classroom. Then clips are all moved back to green for the next day.
I have also included behavior notes corresponding to each section on the chart. If you choose not to use the daily log, you can give each child a note at the end of the day to give to an adult that shows what color they ended up on. These notes can be printed on regular copy paper and easily cut apart. The kids love taking these notes home, collecting them, and hanging the positive ones up on their bedroom wall or refrigerator.
