African Animals : It's very hard to get an entire classroom (or your family) to Disney World to learn about all of the wonderful animals found there. So...we brought the animals to you! Take a virtual field trip to Disney's Animal Kingdom to explore some very familiar and exotic animals.
This unit features a beautifully photographed presentation on African and Asian animals which can be viewed as a group or on individual tablets. Worksheets included with this unit can be completed as guided whole group for younger learners, small group, or individually for older students. The contents of this unit will ask the students to read about animals, measure the size of animals, and use their research skills....just to name a few! The presentation can also be printed in color and laminated for use in science centers.
This unit includes a (21) page beautiful presentation with (3) informational slides on each of the following African and Asian animals:
- fruit bat
- hippopotamus, and more
It also includes worksheets over the following:
- Name that Animal
- How the Elephant Measures Up
- What do I Eat?
- Hippo Research
- Your Turn: Rhinoceros
- Hunting for Food
- Tiger Tracks!
Students will learn about the animals’ weight, what they eat, how many teeth they have, and other fun facts. After students learn about the animals through “real” photos taken at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Animal Kingdom Lodge, they will have several worksheets and activities to complete for understanding. The unit concludes with extended activities, including some which are Disney inspired. The photographs are beautiful and the activities are educational (yet entertaining)! You'll love this unit!
