Use this dissection contract as a means to hold your students accountable during dissections. General polices and procedures have been laid out as well as expectations and helpful hints. Students and parents alike are asked to sign and return the contract; this way all parties involved know what YOU expect from them.
After using this in my classroom for the past couple of years I have found that it eliminates the uncertainty and the "I didn't know that..." from students as well as the various parent emails and phone calls. I use this hand-out as my "jumping off" point for discussion.
The handout provides details without being TOO specific so it can be used in any class with any type of specimen from a middle/junior high class, to an AP Biology class or even post-secondary college lab.
