DISTANCE LEARNING ~PRINT OR DIGITAL DOWNLOAD~ Students will read a non fiction passage about the introduction of tobacco to the Virginia Colony in 1612 and answer text dependent questions. Students will read a fictional passage about a family adopting the practice of planting tobacco, answer text dependent questions, and then summarize the steps in the planting and production of tobacco using a graphic organizer.

Cite specific textual evidence to support analysis of primary and secondary sources.
Analyze how and why individuals, events, and ideas develop and interact over the course of a text.
