School At Home - Choice Grids for Learning Tasks for 3 Weeks - Choose task, activity and assignment on the Grid. Distance Learning. This is an engaging school- at-home activity. Students will choose tasks and activities from a grid; as they complete the activity or task, they color in the box and move onto another task.

Tasks and assignments are appropriate for 2nd and 3rd graders. Literacy, Math, and Science included. There are 3 different grids : week one, week two, and week three.

Independent work packet.

Tasks Include:

  1. Literacy Tasks - journal writing, reading picture book, drawing, making a list, drawing a map, word sort, making a word search, ipad time for approved website, telling a story, listening to sounds in nature and outdoors, writing a poem
  2. Math Tasks - addition, graphing, 3-D shapes, writing numbers by 10s place, measuring, sorting, taking a toy inventory, building a city, making a recipe, designing some dollar bills, creating a store, adding to 100 [flip cards]
  3. Science Tasks - lima bean experiment, making bubbles
  4. Social Studies Tasks - Looking at the globe, Writing about an interesting place

Supplemental pages are included for individual activities and tasks.

Distance Learning Tip: You can easily extract pages from your pdf file. In this way, you can choose to send students some of the pages in a pdf file.

i.e. assignment one, assignment two. You can rename your files also for easy reference. You can learn to do this in about 3 minutes time; just google "extract pages from a pdf file".
