Distance Learning ELA Activities & Digital Starter Package: Google Classroom

Hello teachers, 

As we try to navigate best practices for moving our classrooms online due to the Corona-virus outbreak, I have created this distance learning remote teaching guide for teachers who are struggling to figure out how to organize online learning. 

Included with this product is a 4 week digital agenda page. I have included a sample agenda for week one and 3 lessons to start week one. The purpose of the agenda doc. is to create a digital space to keep all student activities and instructions for each week. Students can get in the routine of checking the doc. Each day for their assignments. Add links to each assignment and instruction where needed to the agenda and share it with your students via Google Classroom as a “view only” doc. or share it as a digital link using a platform of your choice. 

The three lessons included in the product are social emotional learning lessons that will help you assess your students fears, concerns, and needs as they transition to schooling at home. As well, students will read two article that provide them some uplifting news amidst the COVID-19 outbreak. 

Also included is a sample slideshow template with the first three lessons, an instruction guide for teachers regarding how to embed links, and blank slides to continue adding your own curriculum lessons for weeks to come.
