This explorer web quest is designed as an independent learning tool to help students discover more about early explorers and how their journeys changed the face of the world. They will look at 3 explorers and their journeys and will then go more in depth into one explorer.

Their learning is somewhat scaffolded through progressively increasing the difficulty of tasks as the web quest progresses. This web quest provides students with 4 tasks that could be used as summative and/or formative assessment if desired. I have also included an extension task for early finishers that is not just mindless busy work.

Students are given everything they need to succeed independently, leaving you the time to work with students who need extra assistance, or any of the other thousands of tasks you need to do.

I have included the curriculum links to the Australian Curriculum within a dedicated teacher page; however, this resource is not Australian specific and can be used anywhere.
