This is a GROWING unit which means that while all the pages are complete and included I am just finishing proofing. In a growing unit, you pay less for the unit because it is incomplete but you get access to the finished unit at no extra cost. I send you a notification when it's finished and you can download for free!

It is exhausting trying to keep up with new math trends, isn't it? How are you supposed to spiral without a textbook or resource that helps you? This growing unit will allow you to do this without any difficulty.

This is an entire year of daily spiral math activities for the Ontario grade 6 curriculum. The questions are designed to review grade 5 concepts for the first few weeks. After this students will do one strand of math every day all year. This way students don't forget them from year to year. The questions are short and designed to either be done as homework or a quick activity as students arrive in the morning or after recess. Many of the questions are modeled after EQAO style questions or the curriculum. Unlike my previous spiral math, however, this resource has 4-5 questions per day that are designed to be completed quickly and discussed. It also includes a spot each week for an interactive math notebook entry on key concepts. If you don't do math notebooks this spot is great for reviewing ideas. Further, this resource will include challenge questions that will focus on problem-solving or explaining. In this resource, numeration will be covered four times more than any other strand and so students will have the opportunity to practice key concepts.

If you want, my spiraled long-range plans are also on teachers pay teachers for free.

Compare two fractions with different numerators and different denominators, e.g., by creating common denominators or numerators, or by comparing to a benchmark fraction such as 1/2. Recognize that comparisons are valid only when the two fractions refer to the same whole. Record the results of comparisons with symbols >, =, or <, and justify the conclusions, e.g., by using a visual fraction model.
Explain why a fraction 𝘒/𝘣 is equivalent to a fraction (𝘯 Γ— 𝘒)/(𝘯 Γ— 𝘣) by using visual fraction models, with attention to how the number and size of the parts differ even though the two fractions themselves are the same size. Use this principle to recognize and generate equivalent fractions.
