Children will develop phonological awareness skills as they help Sunny the Sound Hound identify environmental sounds. These digital games are appropriate for 3- to 5-year-old children. Once the PowerPoint files have been downloaded and saved to a computer, tablet, or phone, students can play these self-checking games independently without an internet connection.
- Same or Different? The child listens to environmental sounds and tells Sunny if they are the same or different by tapping the thumbs up or thumbs down button.
- What’s Missing? The child listens to a sequence of environmental sounds and determines which sound is missing.
- First, Middle, or Last? The child listens to environmental sounds and identifies the first, middle, or last sound.
- Can You Make This Sound? The child listens to various environmental sounds and then makes the corresponding letter sounds (phonemes).
