This is a great little package jam packed with things to learn about and do for May Day. The text tells about the astronomical and seasonal significance of May day, details about the maypole and dances, the history of May Day and its different celebrations, and May Day customs in the United States. The reading passages have highlighted vocabulary words which are defined at the bottom of the page. The content will catch the attention of and be comprehensible to students from second to fourth grade. There are many photographs, pictures, and charts to illustrate the text's content.

In addition, there is a crossword puzzle and a fill in the blank activity

based on the information of the text. Both of these have their own word banks. A few pages are about interpreting clocks in military time-a conversion chart comes with this.

To top it all off, students can make a portable maypole. The instructions for this and a photo of the completed project are included.
