Time to "Shape Up" your friendships! Making friends can be tricky and some students need extra practice and learning to help them with their social skills. All of these no prep black and white worksheet activities are designed to help students think about the way they make friends. The worksheets allow students to identify areas they need to improve on or a chance to practice and learn how to make or keep friends. The following areas are targeted:

Friend Posters (3 word posters & 3 blank posters)

The 3 word posters are great to colour and read to reinforce the skills: “A Good Friend”, “A Conversation Needs” & “Getting Along Means”. The blank posters can be used for students to brainstorm their own ideas or complete them after the learning about friendships

“Know yourself”, “Know your friend” &“Know your values” (3 sheets)- Students can learn about themselves and their friends and their values so they can talk about what they like and find people who share the same interests/values.

A good friend- 2 sheets to help students think about when they are a good friend and identify someone they know who is a good friend and why

“Know yourself- Manners” & “Manners Match Up” (2 sheets)- review and rate how good a students manners are to find what areas may need to be worked on. The manners match up is a quick sheet to brush up on common situations on when manners are needed.

Cut & Paste friendship sheets (3 sheets)- cut and paste the correct answers to learn about “What makes a good friend?”, “Who is your friend?” and “What does a good friend do in a conversation?”

Conversation skills- sheets to work on: Starting a conversation (2 sheets), Giving compliments (2 sheets), Asking Questions (5 sheets) and listening in a conversation (1 sheet)

Friendship skills- sheets to work on: Dealing with conflict (2 sheets), Following rules (2 sheets), Sharing (2 sheets), accepting differences (2 sheets) and being a good sport (1 sheet)

Scenario sheets- these focus on scenario based learning where students can imagine what and why characters feel a certain way and whether they have experienced something similar. There are sheets that focus on: Good friend skills- word definition match ups (1 sheet), Showing Empathy (5 sheets), Getting Along (10 sheets), Make a Better Choice (8 sheets) and Being a friend (8 sheets)

There is a certificate for students to receive once they have worked on “Shaping up their friendships!”
