The summer Letter Tile Challenge makes for a very engaging center or station for regular education, special education, and ESL students. It can also be used as a distance learning activity. Add the competitive tasks and a leader board. Now you've got motivated kids!
There are 22 summer-themed "main words", each on its own task card. The "main word" is accompanied with a defining illustration and a number of blank boxes that match the number of letters in the word. The child is instructed to "spell out" the main
word by placing the correct letter tiles in the blank boxes just under the word.
Next, the child is instructed to use those letter tiles from the main word to make other
words as designated by other groups of blank boxes on the task card.
Children are encouraged to make as many words as they can. They are to write the words on the answer recording sheets provided, or they can simply write the words on a sheet of paper.
Each "main word task card" comes with a separate list of words that can be made from the letters of the main word. So....yes...there is an answer sheet for each summer main word.
