This worksheet takes students through a challenging 9-part problem. The focus is applying the distance and midpoint formulas to a real-world situation. It also integrates some equations of lines in the coordinate plane, line segment ratios, and rate questions, but those may be omitted if not applicable to your course content.
I felt it worked best as a collaborative activity in my class. We worked in groups of 3, and then at the end of the period, I had one student from each group rotate right, and one student from each group rotate left. Then the newly mixed groups of 3 shared/compared/discussed their work.
