In "Distance and Midpoint Navigation," students will determine the distance and midpoints between ships that they encounter on the great lakes or other body of water in real time. They will be able to use the distance formula and midpoint formula to find distances between maritime vessels and/or ports. They will be able to define and draw acute, obtuse, and right angles.
This small project is especially interesting because the students are able to explore a map that shows where ships are in real time. Let the students explore the different types of marine vessels and ports while using geometry skills. I hope that you and your students have fun exploring geometry around us.
