- small blocks, cubes, or beads
- a pair of dice for each group
- lightsabers (glow sticks)... They have packs of 8 at the Dollar Tree.
Start by making up fun Jedi names (like "Sammy-Wan Kenobi" or "Darth Vinny"). To play, your little jedi can work in pairs or by themselves. Roll a pair of dice and write a multiplication equation (each number rolled is a different factor in the equation). Record the equation in the first box of the recording sheet. Then use cubes, beads, blocks or any other small object to make an array for the equation. After making the array, check the rows and columns by swiping your lightsaber across and up-and-down. Next, use your lightsaber to break apart the array and write the new equation using the distributive property. Finally, multiply each part of the new equation and add the products together to get the total product.
There are 12 boxes to use. Laminate or use in a sheet protector to get more use out of it!
May the force be with you!
