This game is a great way to practice the Distributive Property! Students need to be in groups of 3, and all that is needed to play is cards (included) dry erase board, marker, and eraser.
One student starts as the Captain. The other two players choose a card and put them on their forehead (without look at their card). The Captain multiplies the cards and writes the product on the dry erase board. The players with cards on their forehead should be able to look at the answer and their oponent's card to determine what their card is. The first player that correctly identifies their card, wins! The winner becomes the Captain, and the game is continued.
I took the idea from multiplication facts, but I thought it would be a great game to practice distributing, and it will help students learn to factor also!
