This activity provides several examples of the distributive property in a variety of forms. Students need to identify the expression or model that is not equivalent to the other three. Students record the letter of the expression/model that's different and record why.
There are 2 sets of 24 cards included in this product for a total of 48 oddball cards.
In the first set students match the following forms of the distributive property:
4 x 7, model, (4 x 5) + (4 x 2) and 4(5+2)
In the second set students match the following: model, (4x5) + (4x2), 4(5+2) and 20 + 8
(In the first set, students identify the fact before its broken down and in the second set students identify the 2 partial products instead of the fact.)
Answer keys are included. Thank you for your purchase!
***Be sure to print this product four pages to 1!! There is no need to have each card the size of a full page***
