My students usually struggle with the distributive property of multiplication and require hands-on modeling.
This work mat can be used in two ways:
*Use with manipulatives (base ten blocks, counters, etc.) where they make a large array on the top, then move them to the two smaller squares on the bottom. They are "distributing" the manipulatives.
*Laminate the work mat and have them draw the images for each problem.
