This is an awesome way to scaffold and demonstrate the distributive property of multiplication. It begins with arrays and the mouse "moving" to split the arrays into smaller arrays in order to find the product of the original multiplication problem.
Then the presentation demonstrates by just splitting one factor using the "mouse" method or mouse ears.
Its a fun way to make the distributive property easier to visualize and have whole class involvement.
This goes along with handouts for the "mouse" method also sold in my store.
All feedback is welcome. Thank you!
