This is a good exercise with which to start (or finish) your study of Divergent. I like to pre-teach this vocabulary. Or better still, assign groups of students the dictionary work of finding and explaining definitions. Then the crossword becomes a matching exercise, and can be used competitively.
Alternatively, use as a revision exercise when you have completed your study of the novel.
Students are actively learning (and having fun) when completing this task.
A word bank is supplied to support students. You could redact this to make it more challenging.
The solution is printed on the second page. Download the preview file to see the solution and the grid.
In this crossword, I have used the dictionary meaning of words like abnegation, rather than details of the faction as the word Abnegation is used in the novel. If this is not exactly what you're looking for, check out my General Crossword
which tests students' recollection of characters, factions, and places.
