Students often do not know how to relate to people with disabilites. Our schools have become diverse in may ways, including lots of types of physical and educational disabilites. These five stories by Patricia Kienzle use a black lab puppy as the main character in learning about disabilities. Each story is followed by possible discussion questions. Although the main purpose of the story is to teach about disabilities, there is also possibility for discussion of families, careers, emotions, making friends, etc. More stories may be added as requests are made.
