"Doggies Divide" is a 3 1/2 minute, karaoke style video, that students can sing along with to help learn about the concept of division. It is a story of a group of dogs and cows who solve a simple division problem.
This video would make a good starter for a lesson on sharing or division. The two examples used are, 12 ÷ 3 and 12 ÷ 4.
Also included in the file, is a PDF handout with a few activities and ideas to go along with the video.
The mp4 video and PDF file will download in a zipped folder.
Thanks to my three pups for working for scale. Three milk bones per hour.
The video integrates music, math, reading, and animation. You can use it as daily practice, part of a lesson, an example of division and sharing, PE warmup, clean-up song, or just for fun.
The video can be played on an interactive whiteboard, computer monitor, iPod, iPad, etc.
The preview above is at a lower quality than the actual video due to size requirements.
Special note: Windows Media Player needs a free codec pack installed to play mp4 files. I highly recommend the free VLC media player.
