This is a collection of lesson plans, rubrics, and quizzes for teaching the cell cycle, mitosis, and meiosis. Students will learn the cell cycle by creating a manipulative showing the stages of the cell cycle and then use it to take an assessment to check their understanding (instructions, pictures, and assessment are included). A STEM project, incorporating online tools and basic craft supplies, asks the students to create a stop-motion video of a cell going through mitosis. A detailed rubric guides them through the process, can be used for peer evaluation, and is a quick check for the teacher to use during their presentation. A multiple choice check for understanding concludes the lesson. Finally, students create a paper-slide video detailing and comparing the steps of mitosis and meiosis. A rubric and assessment is included for this project as well.
