Product Description
Use this fun note-taking format to introduce or review decimal division. Students can keep this graphic organizer in their notebooks as a resource/study tool.

Each section of the wheel outlines a step of the process:
1) Predict
2) Set up the problem (1st # goes inside; 2nd # goes outside)
3) Move the decimal points
4) Divide
5) Place the decimal in the answer
6) Compare to prediction

* An example problem is used in each of the steps/sections. There’s room to add another example or two in the “divide” section during instruction, if you want/need to.

* There are 8 problems in the pattern around the circle, for students to practice dividing decimals – these could be used for additional guided practice or for individual practice. A couple problems use decimals that go to the thousandths place.

*There are suggested notes added to each section of the answer key and sample – you may want to use these or you may want to add different notes that better match your instruction.

*Students can color the background pattern for fun, as well as the headings and doodle arrows.

** There’s a PPT page included that is a blank wheel with background, so you can add text to make your own math wheels, if you’d like (for classroom use only - not commercial use).

This resource is part of the Math Wheel of the Week for Grade 6 bundle. It has also been slightly altered to be included in the Math Wheel of the Week for Grade 5 bundle. The altered version is only in the Grade 5 bundle.
