I made this activity after I noticed my students were struggling with questions asking them to choose equivalent division and multiplication expressions with fractions. With this activity they get the practice of dividing fractions and mixed numbers, but it also makes them rewrite the division expression as the equivalent multiplication expression. This made it much easier for me to see which students were not multiplying by the reciprocal. For an additional challenge, students will have to take three multiplication expressions and write them as division expressions and the final row only gives them a solution. The best part is that the students see this as a puzzle and not a worksheet so everyone was engaged and working hard to fill in all the missing information.
