This is a fun activity to get students dividing mixed numbers without having to do the usual tedious algorithm. (If you choose, you can have them write in the boxes as they figure out what comes next.) Then the students will cut out the progressive steps that are written in boxes, which they will glue onto the student answer sheet. At the end, students will be able to answer a silly math riddle which is sure to give them a laugh, or at least a, "Mmm, why didn't I think of that?" This would be an excellent activity for remediation, intervention, or with students that just need a little something extra to motivate them. This activity does not require cross-cancelling, but answers will be reduced at the end.
