In this activity, students are given 16 problems that they must cut out, glue down, and then use the rules of division and exponents to divide the monomials. Then, students must find the answer from the list of choices, cut the correct answer out, and glue it down. There are some “bogus” answer choices that will not be used. Students enjoy doing something different than a normal worksheet and it is more hands-on. There are a lot of different problem types in this activity. Some problems require students to reduce the coefficients and other problems divide evenly. In some of the problems, the variables cancel out, in others there are variables left in the numerator of their answer and lastly, some the problems have variables left in the denominator of their answer.
Materials required for each student: glue, scissors, copy of the answer sheet, and copy of the problem/answer choices.
