Students can easily SEE the difference between 1/6 divided by 4 and 4 divided by 1/6 with this matching activity. This activity is not meant to be used with the traditional algorithm (Keep, Change, Flip). It is meant to help solidify the conceptual understanding of dividing fractions.
The teacher will need to copy the first two pages, laminate, and cut out. Students will then match the word problem to its numerical expression and answer. After making all TEN matches, students will then complete the recording sheet where they will write the equation that corresponds to each word problem and draw a pictorial representation.
I hope you and your students enjoy this activity!
