Product Description
I created this for some extra practice for my students after introducing division. You can of course pick how you'd like to use the cards and recording sheet; however, I had my students pair up and had the cards places around the room on student desks. Prior to the activity, I placed 25 Cookie Crisp Cereal pieces into small snack size baggies for students to use as counters. Each student had a baggie and a recording form. Make sure to copy the recording form double sided. The students worked in teams of two and had 3 minutes to read, draw a picture, write an equation, and then solve using the cookies as counters to model. After the timer went off, students rotated to the next station. It was great to see the students really begin to understand the concept of division as they needed less and less time to complete the activity cards! By the end, I had to only set the timer for 1 minute! Oh and I almost forgot the highlight of the activity--the kids enjoyed a tasty treat when they completed the game!
