This game builds number sense and was inspired by the math thinking of Number Talks.
The fewer steps you use to take your given number down to 0, the higher your score! Dice are used to generate random numbers that students will use to break down that number. It's called Divisibility Dice, but are there ways you can use addition and multiplication to eventually make your number smaller?
This is a dice game; dice are required (and are not included in this digital download). Four dice per game are used. I have students play solo, but pairs would work as well.
This is a thinky game that keeps students engaged. They are mentally exploring all the routes they could take, but then selecting the one that will do it in the fewest steps. I love seeing their concentration and excitement as they learn and think.
This product includes 20 different number pages so students can play endlessly (repeating a number to increase your score is fun too!). The numbers vary widely so you can choose the challenge level for each student.
Games take 10-15 minutes.
